TULIP CONE

Uncommon in sand under
slabs, crawling freely at night in shallow water. Moderately thin
blue-gray shell with wavy reddish-brown bands and spirals of alternating
brown and white dashes. Attains 3.8 inches. Feeds upon small fishes.
The sting
is potent and live shells should not be handled.
East Africa to the Tuamotus. |
