HAWAIIAN GOLDEN-YELLOW CONE

| Common partially buried in sand on
reefs in shallow water. The white spire is low and smooth with
spiral grooves, body whorl with spiral threads toward the base, yellowish
green or rarely pale salmon with a pale midbody band, aperture purple. Animal tan mottled with brown, siphon banded with
black and yellow. Attains 3 inches, 75 mm. Endemic to Hawaii. Formerly reported from
Hawaii as the Indo-Pacific Conus flavidus. |
