SMITH'S DOVE SHELL

Uncommon under dead coral or rubble deeper than 30 feet.  Shape resembles a miter, but the columella lacks diagonal folds.  Reddish-brown with a diffuse white spiral on body whorl, keeled axial ribs with smooth interspaces, protoconch brown.  Attains 0.2 inch, 4 mm.  New South Wales to Samoa and Hawaii.  Formerly known as Seminella smithi.
