LAVENDER DOVE SHELL

Rare on rocky reefs or within dark holes at any depth, especially around the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands.  The smooth shell has an indistinct suture, red ribbed  protoconch, and lavender aperture.  Attains 0.6 inch, 14 mm.  Timor to Micronesia, Fiji, Hawaii, and the Tuamotus.
