ION DOVE SHELL

Uncommon under dead coral or rubble deeper than 30 feet.  Solid and glossy, with an angled shoulder, rounded ribs, and brown protoconch with a white tip, denticles on the columella and outer lip, color and pattern variable, brown and white spots on base, and diffuse spots on outer lip.  Attains 0.3 inch, 7 mm.  East Africa to Hawaii and the Society Islands.
