RED LAMP SHELL

Common in algae-coated dead coral and under rocks at any depth, attached by a stalk through a hole in the lower valve.  Attains diameter of at least 0.4 inch, 10mm.  East Africa to Okinawa, Hawaii, and French Polynesia.
