ORANGE-RING LONG-SPINE URCHIN
Common on reefs in calm or rough
water. Black with orange anal bulb, some blue lines on test,
juveniles banded brown and white. Test attains 3 inches, spines 8 inches.
Thin venomous spines protected by thicker primary
spines. Red Sea to Japan and Marquesas Islands, excluding Hawaii. |
