DARK KNEE HERMIT CRAB

Common in medium-sized shells at any depth.  Hairy, legs white with fine reddish brown splashes, one or two black spots above second segment, lavender above pincers.  Attains width of 1.25 inch.  Red Sea to Japan and the Tuamotus, excluding Hawaii.
