VERVAIN

Weakly ascending herb of disturbed mesic areas.  Leaves thin, embossed, sometimes with short hairs, strongly toothed margins.  Flowers dark violet.  May hybridize with Stachytarpheta jamaicensis.  Native to the Tropical Americas & Asia.  Formerly reported from Hawaii as Stachytarpheta dichotoma & Starchytarpheta urticifolia.
