| Small tree of mesic and wet forests from O'ahu to the island of
Hawai'i. Leathery opposite leaves 1 to 4 inches long, calyx of pistillate
flowers cup-like or tubular, sessile oval fruit in clusters of 3 to 6. Endemic to Hawai'i.
A variable species complex that hybridizes with other nearby members of
the genus. |
