HAPU'U
| Common in mesic to wet forests of Oahu, becoming less common moving
east to the Big Island, absent from Kaua'i. Fronds bare except at base,
pinnule segments cut 7/8 deep, basal segments lack projecting 'ear', dull
light green beneath, with tan cobweb hairs that fall with age. Endemic to Hawaii. |
