Family Aulostomidae
Trumpetfishes
| Common on reefs where they feed upon smaller fish and shrimp during
the day. They move slowly, relying upon stealth to approach
unsuspecting prey, hiding among large objects including corals, other
fish, or manmade items. They have a fine-scaled,
vertically compressed body, small round eyes, and a blunt , paddle-like
tail. |
