A coastal species seen in small aggregations along
dropoffs. The highly expansible mouth is held open as it swims to
capture plankton. Attains 16 inches. Red Sea to
Okinawa and Samoa, excluding Hawaii, also
reported from the Mediterranean Sea by transiting the Suez
Canal. |
