Makapu'u, Oahu, 35 feet

A shy species usually hidden within small crevices or branching coral.  Pale red-brown with large black spots below the soft dorsal fin and gill cover.  Attains 3.5 inches.  East Africa to Taiwan, Hawaii, and Mangareva.
