Dottybacks

Dottybacks are small, often colorful fishes with short pelvic fins.  They tend to be shy with a few exceptions.  Replaced by Family Grammatidae in the Western Atlantic.

Longfins are cryptic fishes with long pelvic fins.  Most are nocturnal and rarely seen by divers.
