Locally common sheltering among dead coral or seagrass in muddy lagoons.  Brown above, pale below, black stripe through eye, bright internal stripe along vertebrae broken at midbody, three black spots at base of dorsal fins, black leading edge of first dorsal fin.  Attains 3 inches.  East Africa east to Okinawa and Vanuatu.
