Common on shallow reefs.  Massive hemispheres composed of many rounded columns with dead bases, tan, greenish, grayish or yellowish-brown.  Calices small and closely-spaced, with sloping sides.  Bermuda, Florida to Venezuela, & the Gulf of Mexico.  Formerly known as Montastraea annularis.
