ROUGH GONIASTREA

Locally common in shallow water and murky lagoons.  Massive or encrusting, large angular calices with finely granular septa and paliform lobes, reddish-brown with fluorescent septa in shaded habitats.  Red Sea to the Austral Islands.  Formerly known as Goniastrea aspera.
