LOW-RIDGE CACTUS CORAL

Common on shallow reefs.  Thick plates with long sinuous valleys and thick ridges that may be broken into nodules, usually one row of polyps within valleys, somewhat rough, gray, pink, or green with valleys of different color.  Mycetophyllia ferox has shorter, narrower valleys.  Florida to Venezuela.
