SCYLLAE

Rare in rubble or Halimeda at scuba depths.  Color variable with rows of blue ocelli and scattered conical white papillae.  Nearly transparent dendritic gills distributed on dorsal surface.  Swims by undulating if disturbed.  Two animals were observed swimming at the surface in Waimanalo Bay.  Attains 1 inch.  Hawaii & Papua New Guinea.
