Kona, Hawai'i


Uncommon under rocks in shallow water with purple or turquoise sponge.  Body assumes color of sponge it consumes.  Soft texture and white mottling distinguish this from similar species.  Attains 1 inch.  Hawai'i and the Western Pacific.  Formerly known in Hawai'i as Jorunna tomentosa.
