GREGARIOUS WORM SNAIL

Thousands of shells grow upon each other, forming thick mats on wave benches or rocks near the low tide mark of select locations.  Coiled brown shells often coated by coralline algae, aperture dark brown.  Aperture diameter 3mm, overall diameter 12mm.  Formerly known as Dendropoma gregaria.  Oman to Hawaii and the Society Islands.
