GREAT WORM SNAIL
Common on shallow reefs embedded in live coral. The largest
member of the family, the operculum-covered aperture has a diameter of
20mm. Mucus nets used to capture food particles are harmful to
coral. Formerly known as Dendropoma maxima. Red Sea
to the Society Islands, excluding Hawaii. |
