HAWAIIAN TURBAN

Common under stones in shallow water.  Interior composed of mother-of-pearl, operculum domes & calcareous, shells from the NWHI may be loosely coiled and attain 4 inches.  Endemic to Hawaii.  Related to the Indo-West Pacific Turbo argyrostomus, which also occurs at Midway Atoll.
