Common in crevices on hard reef exposed to surge deeper than 10 feet.  Most shells are heavily encrusted with coralline algae.  Attains 4 inches.  Hawaii & the Tropical Pacific.  Formerly known as Latirus nodatus and Benimakia nodatus.
