Olives

Olives live beneath the sand and feed upon small invertebrates.

 

 

Oliva paxillus sandwicensis   

HAWAIIAN OLIVE

Endemic to Hawaii.  Fairly common in coarse sand at any depth.  Color variable, often matching color of sand where it lives.  Reaches 1.5 inches.
