SHIELD LIMPET

Occurs on rocks in the intertidal zone where it is protected from waves.  Shell white with short brown markings, apex high and centered, interior with brown center.  Attains nearly 2 inches.  Alaska to Central California.  Formerly known as Collisella pelta and Acmaea pelta.
