TALC LIMPET    'OPIHI KO'ELE

Locally common on subtidal boulders exposed to heavy surf as deep as 20 feet.  Shell dome-shaped with fine radiating ribs, interior is white.  The animal's foot is yellow.  Usually cooked to soften the tough muscular foot.  Attains 4 inches.  Rarely encountered west of Moloka'i.  Endemic to Hawaii.
