ALISON'S COWRY
|
Fairly common on red sponge in dead coral heads, under
slabs, rubble, or within caverns. Dark spots are not visible when
viewed from below, and callous is only present on the outer lip.
Attains 1.8 inches, 45 mm. South Africa to Hawaii
and Clipperton Island. Formerly known in Hawaii as Cypraea teres,
and Cypraea alisonae is a synonym. |
