HAWAIIAN FRINGED COWRY

Common in dead coral, coral rubble, and under stones at any depth.  Shell small and cylindrical with purple tips, and a bright orange animal.  Attains 0.8 inch, 21 mm.  An endemic Hawaiian subspecies.  The parent species occurs throughout the Indo-Pacific.  Formerly known as Cypraea fimbriata.
