GREATER BLUE-RINGED OCTOPUS

Occurs on shallow reefs or tidepools where it inhabits crevices and emerges at night to feed.  Venom is extremely powerful and bites are usually fatal, but will not bite unless provoked.  Maximum arm span of 8 inches.  Tropical Western Pacific from Okinawa to Australia.
