Miner's Urchin Shrimp
   

PEBBLE-COLLECTOR URCHIN

Locally common on rubble at scuba depths.  Spines range from white to purple, empty test is compressed, white with green rays.  Miner's Urchin Shrimp clings to spines for protection.  Attains diameter of 5 inches.  Madagascar to Hawaii and Easter Island.
