MOON JELLYFISH

Seasonally abundant in plankton-rich bays and harbors.  Has a very weak sting and feeds upon zooplankton such as copepods and mollusk larvae.  Attains at least 12 inches.  Unintentionally introduced to Hawaii from the Western Pacific.  Several cryptic species occur throughout the tropics.
