SCALY HERMIT CRAB

Inhabits weedy reefs in shallow water. Hairy, legs with diffuse reddish-brown bands and blue-gray dots, large left claw often coated by coralline algae, base of antennae and antennules striped.  Attains width of 1 inch.  East Africa to the Society Islands, excluding Hawaii.
