HAWAIIAN ROSE 'ULEI

Common sprawling shrub of dry & mesic forests, coastal cliffs, & lava fields. Forms dense thicket in windswept areas. Native to Hawaii, Tonga, & the Cook Islands. Related species occur in Okinawa & Ogasawara.
