HAWAII - NATURALIZED
Araucaria heterophylla
NORFOLK ISLAND PINE
Rare on slopes & ridges, sparingly planted for
reforestation or as an ornamental. Conical in habit with a ragged
appearance. Branchlets drooping, curved needles bristle-like, bark
peeling as small scales. Endemic to Norfolk Island where it is
imperiled. Often confused with the ubiquitous Cook Pine,
Araucaria columnaris.
