Rare in very deep water along dropoffs where it feeds upon zooplankton.  Caudal fin white with black membranes and trailing edge, adults with an extremely long horn directly ahead of the eyes.  Juveniles have a white caudal peduncle and are encountered in Halimeda beds.  Attains 40 inches.  Hawaii & the Indo-Pacific.
