BLUESTRIPE or TAHITIAN SQUIRRELFISH
'ala'ihi Aosuji-ebisu
A shy species uncommon in caverns at
scuba depths especially around Maui and the island of Hawai'i.
Red with a white arc behind the eye and iridescent blue stripes on the belly,
dorsal fin red with white-tipped spines.
Attains
13 inches. Western Indian Ocean islands east to Hawai'i
and Pitcairn Island.
