Rare beyond diving depths in the Main Hawaiian Islands but occasionally seen at scuba depths at Midway Atoll.  A large attractive species with rows of white scales.  Attains 12 inches.  Restricted to subtropical islands including Hawai'i, Japan, Easter Island, Lord Howe Island, Western Australia, and Reunion.
