DECOY SCORPIONFISH
Uncommon in dark holes at depths exceeding 50 feet.
Mottled red with black and yellow marks on the spiny dorsal fin to mimic
a small fish as it is undulated, luring prey toward the mouth. Attains 5 inches.
Scattered records from subtropical locations including South Africa,
Okinawa, Hawai'i and Pitcairn.
