Common partially buried in sand or mud at any depth
where it roots for buried shellfish, creating crater-like depressions.
Tail covered with sharp tubercles. Attains width of 5 feet.
Subtropical waters worldwide, including Hawaii. Formerly known as
Dasyatis lata.
