LUSTROUS POMFRET MONCHONG
Inhabits open ocean depths to 1600 feet,
migrating toward the surface to feed on zooplankton at night.
Lacks scutes on caudal peduncle.
Landed as bycatch by tuna longline vessels, less common in Hawaii than
Sicklefin Pomfret. Attains 18 inches. Western Indian
and Tropical Pacific. |
