Silversides

Silversides are small fishes with two dorsal fins and a very prominent lateral line.  They inhabit the sea surface near shore and feed upon plankton.  They are often used as bait.

HAWAIIAN SILVERSIDE

Common near the surface in tidepools and coastal waters.  Bright sliver lateral stripe.  Endemic to Hawaii.  To about 3.5 inches.
