SHARPNOSE MULLET

Locally common in the surf zone. Lower profile curves strongly upward from tip of
pectoral fins to form sharp point at mouth. Yellow spot at base of pectoral fins.
Lacks adipose eyelids. Attains 12 inches. Hawaii, Ogasawara,
Micronesia, Samoa east to Pitcairn. Formerly known as Chaenomugil
leuciscus.
