Wormfishes

Wormfishes are small elongate fishes that inhabit burrows in sand or rubble.  They are shy and avoid divers.  They feed upon zooplankton or small invertebrates and are related to dartfishes.

CURIOUS WORMFISH

Rarely seen by divers in deep water over a rubble bottom.  Despite the name it is very skittish & difficult to approach.  Attains 4.5 inches.  Hawaii & the Indo-Pacific.
