LAVENDER DARTFISH

Rare along dropoffs with coral rubble deeper than 80 feet.  Attains 2.5 inches.  Philippines to Okinawa, Micronesia, Coral Sea, east to Samoa.

Nemateleotris helfrichi lacks yellow on the head and has a black 'moustache'.  It is restricted to the Cook Islands and French Polynesia.
