Makai Pier, Waimanalo, Oahu

Uncommon inhabitant of exposed tidepools and rocky shores.  Capable of displaying spotted or banded pattern at will.  Head broadly flattened and generally darker than other members of the genus.   Attains 4 inches.  Hawaii and the Indo-Pacific.
