SIDESPOT GOATFISH        malu

Fairly common on sandy reefs at scuba depths where it feeds upon invertebrates during the day.  Pinkish-gray with a black blotch below the first dorsal fin followed by a large white area.  Assumes a mottled red, white, and black pattern at night.  Attains 13 inches.  Hawai'i and the Indo-Pacific.
