PFLUEGER'S or ORANGE GOATFISH weke
'ula
A large skittish species uncommon in small groups
along reef margins at deeper scuba depths. Pale gray to salmon
orange with white bars, orange fins, and small eyes with a red iris and
gold ring around the pupil. Also known locally as weke
nono and moelua. Attains 22 inches and 8 pounds. Spotty distribution in the Indo-West Pacific including
Hawai'i,
Okinawa, and Reunion. |
