Uncommon in dark crevices at scuba depths but rarely seen until it emerges at night to feed upon crustaceans.  Catfish-like without a separate tail, dark brown with white markings on the face.  Attains a maximum of 24 inches but normally half that size.  Hawai‘i and the Indo-Pacific.
