Common in dark crevices but rarely seen until it emerges at night to feed upon crustaceans.  Catfish-like without a separate tail, dark brown with white markings on the face.  Attains a maximum of 39 inches but usually much less.  Red Sea to Japan, Hawaii, and Pitcairn.
